Your company doesn't reimburse you for mileage on your personal vehicle? Seems odd that you can't deduct that anymore (the business certainly can). Different story if you're just talking about the new standard deduction exceeding what you would itemize even if you deducted mileage. I used to do it that way with my own business, but that's because it was simpler and my travel was more sporadic rather than typical full days making calls. I'm no longer in that scenario, so I'll take your word for it, but that really seems nonsensical. I would certainly be having a talk with my employer under that scenario.
