I think that populism on both sides has become appealing to the extremes of both parties. I include die-hard Bernie supporters in this group. This seems to be a world-wide trend, and my theory is that social media is helping grow this movement everywhere. Whatever the cause, I hope common (fiscal) sense prevails.

Note that socialist programs do not necessarily fall into this category, though the right paints everything like that. Something like free college for all is extreme and impractical to me, but I can see an economic model for universal healthcare that works. Each program needs to be analyzed on its own merits.

I know nothing about Klobuchar to know if you are unfairly representing her as extreme (wouldn't surprise me, but I'll give you the benefit of doubt).
