This keeping up with Jones' mentality of having to have the newest fanciest buildings is a shame. It's not like the basic, underlying curriculum in most majors has changed much over time. There is no need for the dramatic rise in tuition. Fancy buildings don't make kids smarter. It's such wasteful spending that now gets passed onto an entire generation through student loans.

Look at the kids living on the lawn or the range (or Old Dorms). Do their old buildings make it harder for them to get an education?
