What is frustrating about it is half of congress making it their life's mission for six years to try and prove it is exactly what idiots like TK think it is rather than just accept it as the new norm and try and address some of its shortcomings so their effing constituents can have access to affordable healthcare. The red states that turned down Medicaid money just so they could stomp their feet and stonewall effective state exchanges ought to be ashamed of themselves, and it's a shame their voters aren't intelligent enough to see how they're being screwed.

It's literally return to the broke-as-hell status quo or nothing for the Republicans (despite the fact that this was originally their idea as an alternative to Medicare for all), which should be appalling to anyone.

And the sad thing is, I'm not sure what Obama could have done better other than dig up dirt on X number of Republicans and black mail them. He tried playing nice and compromising and they simply were never interested--it's all about power and delegitimizing anyone with a D next to his name, not actually, you know, working for the people like they're supposed to.
