I feel old because I remember how the system worked back in the 70's and early 80's. It was no bed of roses but most people did not expect government to fix their lives for them.

Now the economy is far better, the standard of living is far higher, air and water are cleaner, social services are much greater, roads and energy distribution are far more extensive and cheap, internet is almost everywhere, crime is way down, but the system is failing terribly and it is time to start blowing things up.
