That sentiment is not an altogether invalid one. It is the scale...

...on which "they" want to impose it (if your position is that that's what "they" are after) that creates the problem.

Socialism's viability (and, IMO, desirability) as a successful socioeconomic paradigm is at least in part inversely proportional to the scale on which you wish to impose it.
