Gender is such a fundamental aspect of being human that it's

understandable that many, including those with scientific expertise, would assert its rock solid certainty and classify transgenderism as a mental disorder, and maybe it is. I'm as far from an expert on the subject as there is, but this guy seems to be making some bold claims without presenting corresponding evidence. Maybe he's just dumbing it down for us laymen, but he doesn't refer to any specific studies or results other than the suicide rates. Should a high suicide rate among transgenders be a surprise to anyone with a brain, and why does it indicate that gender dysphoria can be "cured" through psychotherapy any more than homosexuality can? If I'm not mistaken, I believe that a consensus has been reached in the scientific community that trying to "cure" homosexuality is a flawed concept. As far as I'm concerned, the jury is still out on whether or not gender dysphoria can be "cured," and this guy, who may or may not just be a doc who'd like to think his own therapeutic prowess is up to the task, should be taken with a grain of salt for now.
