More like even good and well-intentioned people are human and can fall


Out of their comfort zone.

I'll be the first to admit I'd choose a regular dude over a transgender roommate too, give the choice. Most of us would--the chances of having a lot in common with someone who is transgender and it's far more likely you would have to endure a year's worth of comments about your "freak" roomy, so sure. That's a good bit different from the state legislature passing a law that shames them into using a specific restroom just to be assholes and to delegitimize who they are.
