conservatives in academia and an even greater lack of tolerance for conservative views. That's not searching for victimization, that's pointing out the obvious. As a conservative who associates predominately other conservatives, I can see the pitfalls of interacting with only likeminded people. The opposing liberal opinions I read on this website have challenged some of my own beliefs and has forced me to better support my conservative positions in other cases. Sitting in an echo chamber of like minded people does not promote learning. I would be horrified if the positions were reversed and academia was a bunch of conservatives with single digit representation by liberals.

I would think that institutions of higher learning would welcome opposing viewpoints. If the liberals are so convinced their worldview is correct, it should easily withstand a challenge from conservative viewpoints without the need to exclude them entirely from the conversation or shout them down in the rare cases where conservatives are given a platform to speak.

But feel free to just dismiss this as "victim searching".
