Was that supposed to add value to the conversation somehow? Why bother even posting that? Unlike this post, which was a fair assessment of the situation, although I would add that much of that "social pressure" was accelerated by Obama policies, in an effort to appease a part of his voter base rather than what might be best economically or in terms of energy costs. Which in turn accelerated job losses, the focus of Trump's point and Hillary's comments a few weeks ago.

But if we want to talk about inability to do nuance, why not address Waxie's post that started this. Mechanization is the problem causing these job losses? Maybe over the last few decades, but certainly not the last 8 yrs. where the Coal industry has been devastated. As TK correctly pointed out, if that was the issue, those mines would still be running strong, just with fewer workers. They are not. Just more leftie spin trying to divert blame and attention away from Dear Leader's policies and their impact on this industry and the related jobs.

If you want to talk about the social benefits of killing coal and favoring renewable energy via tax dollars, we would probably disagree on the approach and speed (but not the benefit of using cleaner energy), fine, I totally can respect that position. But let's not pretend that what has happened to the coal industry and its jobs wasn't a result of intentional moves and desires of the Obama administration.
