Exactly, Paglia is in the business of being an Iconoclast, with a minor in
promoting Paglia.
In her line of work, grand exposition of the clay feet (real or imagined) of various academic and political media stars not named Paglia, dressed up in pseudo-intellectual gloss iced with, ideally, a classical reference or three, is the pain quotidien. Her targets are, actually, usually on the left because the left dominates the environment where Paglia works, i.e. academia, the media, and the political world, or at least that part of it stretching from the upper west side to the lower east side, then from Manhattan all the way to such far-flung points as Rye, Harrison, Greenwich, and the Hamptons. Sometimes even Cambridge, or Martha's Vineyard.
