That isn't what the article says.

The article clearly states "I think on the committee I’ll have Dr. Ben Carson and some other folks." Doesn't sound like he's leading the search at all, but among one of many advisors. I don't know why you chose that to pick on trump with the number of other ridiculous statements he made such as him claiming that he's going to be great on the military and military strategy.
