It's an interesting question.
Trump has spent relatively little on this campaign, while his opponents have poured hundreds of millions into negative ads to try to stop him. When a pro-Trump super PAC emerged he disavowed it and had his attorneys at Jones Day send them a cease and desist letter.
But at the same time he hasn't ruled out allowing them to help him in the GE. Presumably he's not willing to flush that much of his money down the drain.
If anything positive can come out of a Trump nomination, maybe defeating the idea that it takes hundreds of millions of dollars in campaign spending to compete will be it.
Having said that, look for Mrs. Clinton's campaign to shatter the record for campaign spending regardless of who gets the GOP nomination. And since she'll trounce anyone the GOP puts up, I suppose the lesson will still be that the one with the most money wins.
