Maybe an open mind would help you tell when I am being
serious or not. Worth a try sometime.
I have linked one of the articles I have read on this topic. This all stems from a published report that alleged that Exxon had clear knowledge of the adverse impact son the environment from its products, but covered that info up and deliberately mislead the public. Sort of the tobacco company situation. The Virgin islands AG apparently has some reason to believe that CEI and Exxon were connected at the hip and that communications between them could contain a smoking gun or two.
is he/she over reaching with this subpoena? Maybe, maybe not. This is an organization that has been involved solely in position advocacy, lobbying and public opinion forming on behalf of the fossil fuel industry. So the communications do seem relevant to that investigation.
So read the attached, and everywhere it says tobacco industry, substitute fossil fuels industry. Do you think any tobacco lobbyists ever received a subpoena?
