It is actually becoming quite a hot topic in the financial world. Increasingly, investors are insisting that those taking fiduciary responsibility for a portion of their money explain how they take sustainability into account. Feels largely like lip service to a degree, but that is often how these things begin.

Often people call it "ESG" concerns - Environmental, Social, and governance issues. The global initiative moves forward in fits and starts under an effort called "UN PRI", administered by the UN, and hampered by no teeth and the choppy rep of the UN for rarely having any teeth. But "sustainability" is likely here to stay, whatever you may think about.

And that's just in the investment world. So if you want the University to be and remain at the cutting edge, then this is a need it has to consider meeting now, and probably in a much more robust way down the road.
