To clarify I wasn't talking about me, even though it applies, but rather
the working and lower middle class repubs and dems that are coming out in droves to support Trump. Those that have lived paycheck to paycheck for most of their lives, always having to worry about when the chit was going to hit the fan from a job loss, medical issue, or even a broken down car. Those same "racist rednecks" as you guys like to dub them, are usually the first to step up and help others facing the reality they fear, and are often less racist than the elitists calling them that. They aren't worried about a road they may never use, but they see themselves busting their ass more and more, while even tiny things on the grand scheme like "Obamaphones" are handed out to others, see Food Stamps growing exponentially, more and more people "gaming the system" on disability, and jobs continuing to be lost. All while their fears don't get any better, and feeling it will just mean they'll have to work that much harder.
And now here comes a candidate making them believe he can make it better. Wanting to believe he can make it better. Wanting to believe those fears will at least diminish a tiny bit and return to a better time. They've been lectured enough about the "common good", and they darn sure aren't going to listen to someone that says they just think "I got mine, fuck you", when they know how untrue that is.
