Tim Miller from Bulwark podcast had a chapter devoted to Hopium. As a former Jeb advisor, he spent a lot of time mining polls for micro trends. As the primary host of Bulwark (recently replacing Charlie Sykes), he is a Republican without a Party. He often says that campaigns need to find “Hopium” to continue campaigning energetically. These polls serve that purpose in a sea of bullshit polling that the opposition promotes.

In the end, these polls could end up being bullshit, but they will serve the purpose of injecting “Hopium”.
