Without any fear at all. Many Jews have pretty clearly Jewish surnames which are known to fellow students among protestors. Many wear mezuzahs or stars of David openly, or they used to, because they weren’t worried about identifying themselves as Jews. Many are simply known to fellow students as Jews based on the holidays they celebrate. Not that complicated Laz - until recently, no Jew would have felt a need to hide his identity at Columbia.

Recently a fellow anti Trumpie, of the sort who would tend to poo-poo rw hysteria over DEI or CRT, actually typed the words to me that an individual wearing a Star of David on a campus with protestors is kind of asking for trouble, don’t you know.

So, if you’re looking for hypocrisy and ignorance, there’s no shortage of it across the political spectrum.
