This IS a political message board, and the protests at universities

Across the nation are probably the most prominent political story of the moment. This is a map of the 20 campuses nationally that merely had arrests this weekend - doesn’t include every one experiencing protests.

This could turn out to be one of the issues on which the election turns. It could turn out to be an inflection point in American support for Israel. Which, given mob mentality, will probably be accompanied by a material increase in antisemitism in the US. I think Jews with kids should keep an eye on that. Imo, the US has been the safest, most inclusive place for Jews in the world since the time of Jesus. Including Israel. And that might be in jeopardy. We are seeing it foreshadowed in these protests.

In any event, it’s as prominent a story as there is in American politics, so it makes sense that it’s the most prominent one here, and that repubs are happy to highlight the divisions on the other side for a change.
