I realize you're in FL and thus your vote doesn't really matter in the ultimate outcome, but the logic of a protest vote (or non-vote) has always seemed simplistic and childish to me. Unless you think that voting for someone who supports abortion rights (or some other moral issue) condemns you in the afterlife, declining to choose the less bad option for the country accomplishes nothing. Either Trump or Biden will be President next and their choice will be the VP. If you think that Biden and Harris are both less bad than Trump, pick the one that will do less damage in your mind. I don't see how a write-in vote does anything to help the country except let you feel better about yourself.

This isn't really so much meant as an attack on you personally (you rightly point out that one vote in FL doesn't matter) as trying to understand a perspective that has boggled my mind since 2016. The Never Trump crowd refused to take the next logical step at the time and endorse Clinton. If you're saying Trump shouldn't be President, you're saying Clinton should be. They mostly came around on Biden in 2020, but the fact that they didn't explicitly endorse Clinton likely changed the outcome of that election and gave us all the scandals, trials, and tribulations of the past 8 years (and going forward).
