Good report on the changes - the Biden admin doesn’t want to talk about trans women in sports in an election year. That’s the final observation in the piece (with a WAPO reporter).

Biden feels like he’s in a vice at times. He’s got key dem constituencies at each other’s throats over Gaza. Here, he doesn’t want to poke the progressive bear on this issue, which is such a great window into our politics. There are not very many trans women athletes (there are many, many female athletes who can be deeply impacted by 1 trans woman). It should be noncontroversial - biology is biology, and there’s a tiny number of these people who are facing restrictions in sports they like to play. For them, it should be just one of many challenges to legit gender dysphoria. Should not be some hot button issue a dem admin needs to hide from. But, if he passed a science based rule on this, he’d have another electoral vice on his hands.

Another example of the weirdness of our society these days.
