Ah, you must be referring to the articles of impeachment that accuse him of
not detaining migrants he doesn’t have the capacity or resources to detain because Congress hasn’t provided them. Perhaps Congress should pass a law that would provide significant additional resources that would alleviate that problem. Perhaps Senator Lankford of Oklahoma could take the lead in crafting such a law. I’m certain it would pass easily since Republicans are so concerned about the problem and want to do something about it, as do many Democrats.
But we don’t live in that world, do we? We live in a world where Republicans value the problem more than the solution, a world where they would rather waste time and money impeaching a cabinet secretary for not doing things they haven’t equipped him to do rather than passing legislation that would equip him to do them. We live in a world where Republicans prefer to play games rather than solve problems. We live in a world where they’re more concerned about staying in the good graces of an insurrectionist former president than doing what’s right for the American people. And sadly, we live in a world where they’ve conned the likes of you into believing they’re the good guys.
