Calling transgender women by their male pronoun is
just an asshole move, but it shouldn’t be illegal.
I don’t get it. I worked with a guy (let’s call him John) who came out as transgender after leaving the company (let’s call her now Joana) I don’t get it, and it’s weird to see this person dressed as a woman (and unfortunately not doing a vey convincing job…. I can’t see past “John” in drag), but how much of an ahole would you have to be to insist on referring to this person as “John” and “he” when they prefer to be referred to as “Joana” and “she”
I don’t know what Rowling is doing here. I agreed with some of her earlier statements, but if she’s intentionally “misgendering” people, that just seems like a pointless asshole move.
