...wondered in amazement at how massive swaths of the populations of, say, Nazi Germany, Soviet Russia, Communist China, etc., could be completely brainwashed by the regime into believing the most insane things -- and not just insane, but things that were so easily contradicted by readily available facts, logic and common sense. You gotta think a significant number of those people were of at least average intelligence and probably a fair number of above-average intelligence, and yet it happened. I never understood how that was possible, but now do, thanks to seeing it happen with America's left, especially over the past 10 years or so. Just incredible.

And -- as you said -- rather than admit reality or even attempt debate, they'll just hurl personal insults at you. Take the win and move on.
