His first criminal trial officially starts April 15

A fun coincidence for the guy who commits tax fraud to have his trial start on tax day.

I appreciated this update: “That hearing was bad news for Trump and not only because of the new trial date. That’s twice now that the judge, Juan Merchan, has seemed impatient with his lawyers, and seen through their attempts at delay and distraction. If the judge keeps the lawyers on this tight a leash during the trial itself, the former president will be in trouble.”
