I didn't start posting here until late 2020, so I'm just guessing on that, but I can't even fathom that lefties were as rekt pre-Trump as they are now. I'd have had substantial disagreements with them before Trump and vice versa, of course, but it would have been about things like marginal tax rates and prayer in schools -- i.e., good faith policy disagreements -- rather than them ranting about how I'm a fascist traitor and my leader is Literally Hitler and it's great that MAGAts die of COVID and WENEEDTOJAILTRUMP! The left is completely off the rails today.

Half of my interest in this board is using it as a kind of laboratory to gain a better understanding of how huge percentages of a population can get completely brainwashed. Watching lefties be taken through that brainwashing process regarding Trump and all things surrounding Trump is illuminating.

I'm a student of history and never could get my arms around how entire populations of, say, Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan could become so propagandized. I certainly never thought it could happen to Americans, especially with a free press and freedom of speech, and yet here we are. It's fascinating.
