As a big time, experienced CPA you know that in a compilation engagement the firm simply takes data provided by the client and organizes it in the form of financial statements. The firm does not verify the accuracy or completeness of the information provided by management or otherwise gather evidence to express an opinion or a conclusion on the financial statements.

From everything I’ve read, Mazars followed the accounting standards governing compilations and are thus not liable. And more importantly, once they believed the material provided by the Trump Org was not accurate, they resigned from the engagement and announced their work product on behalf of the Trump Org cannot be relied upon just like the standards require.

BTW it was clever move to take the CPA reference out of your user name. Makes it much harder for you to get hit with Acts Discreditable charges from the Virginia BOA for some of your more misogynistic posts.
