What happened to “A Country boy can survive”?

Serious question. This is about rural areas. The people I know in rural areas still have a garden, a chest freezer, chickens, hunt, fish and go to town now and then for provisions. They don’t need a Walmart or a Family Dollar on the corner. Or maybe enough of them really are self sufficient and Dollar Tree built too many stores and this has nothing to do with Joe Biden’s economy?
