Resistance to be futile. Ukraine was supposed to be overrun in a week, and Russia’s inability to hold even half its initial gains, and its inability to move at more than a snail’s pace now, in spite of total air dominance and something like 10 to 1 ammunition advantages, is lost on them.

Russia is a glorified gas station which relies completely on Iran, China, and NK to even remain in this fight. To be sure, Ukraine relies on nato and other western allies as much - but that alliance destroys the autocratic one, if it simply doesn’t lose interest. Its weapons are state of the art, and Ukraine is fighting for its existence, whereas Russia recruits minorities and prisoners who have no idea why they’re fighting.

Only Trumpistan can hand Putin a victory. If they’ve really been defeated now (let’s hold our full applause until this really comes to a floor vote), that’s just one battle. There will be more. We can certainly count on an all out effort by Putin and Xi to influence our electorate for Trump - he is by far their most important ally. A win for Biden in Nov. would be perhaps the biggest win for global democracy over global despotism since 1945.
