It's bad enough that the person (people) who get the most votes does not win due to the electoral college which completely subverts the will of the people and produces minority rule. The only way that the minority is able to justify this is by falling back on the trite belief that the founders were somehow infallible in their thinking and that their beliefs are not to be questioned.
