“Due process”, which of course Trumpistan doesn’t recognize, so it makes sense. Trump gets to make his case in public over and over, with almost no restrictions at all save threatening judges and prosecutors. He gets to assert that he was fully above the law as pres and actually have that question adjudicated all the way to the Supreme Court. He gets to delay his fed cases as long as possible through every legal means so that he can keep open the possibility of simply ending the cases if elected. The Biden admin is powerless to prevent him from being the front runner for his party’s nomination. It is powerless to keep him off ballots - that effort was launched by republicans, and only the SC can confirm it. When they don’t, Trump’s the nominee.

Navalny got no trial by his peers. No appeals process. No ability to bring any part of his case to the public in the fully state controlled media. No ability to get on ballots as an opposition candidate. Trump runs around in his private jumbo jet at his whims, while Navalny disappeared from view to Siberia.

To a clueless Trumpie who regularly smears his verbal diarrhea all over the constitution, and to nobody else, those are the same things.
