If the Republicans...
hadn't planned to disrupt Ross Perot's daughter's wedding in 1992 and forced him to withdraw from the Presidential race, I have little doubt that he would've won the 1992 election. I was living in Texas at the time and the enthusiasm there for the Reform Party was palpable.
Perot was crazy ("Larry, Larry! If I get stuck up there I'm gonna pull this country over to the side of the road, put the hood up, and fix this this whole thing"....).
But Ross wasn't as dangerous as Trump. And, had we already experienced a maverick narcissist President (admittedly not as affected as Trump), we may have realized that plan just doesn't work. And anyway, who was that Stockdale guy? Why was he there?
Hey, I'm just having a Trump Derangement Syndrome attack tonight trying to watch CSPAN repeat of Trump's speech to the NRA in Harrisonburg, PA.
So, I'm having a few shots of cheap tequila.
