And I got news for you - pick any measure - per capita gdp, gdp growth, industrial output, inflation, unemployment - plenty of examples of the U.S. not leading the developed world in one or more of those measures. Now it appears China will join Japan and the Soviet Union on the scrap heap of past boogeymen Americans feared were about to leave them in the dust.
