If you have completely lost trust in the establishment


everything you list can be understood in terms other than being anti democratic, some combination of media bias, entrapment, corruption etc. once you lose faith in the basic capacity of the gov to function honestly and transparently, everything becomes suspect

Whether they are justified in that belief is separate, but Trump voters first and foremost, I believe, have a complete loss of trust and faith in the gov and the system as caring about their values and well being

That starting point is necessary to speak intelligently about Trump voters or the current political climate. That’s why drain the swamp became so popular
