Oh wow.

I didn't realize the process had gotten that far 'downriver.'

I mentioned to your husband the other day that I had a heart transplant ~16 years ago. I had a false alarm a few days before I got my new heart, but never came close to the operating room for prep. What you've described is a real kick in the teeth and I'm so sorry you both had to go through it. I'm really glad to hear his spirits are up despite such a blow. He'll get the one that's right for him.
