You don't have to do well cash flow wise as long as other billionaires want it, and I'd bet there are plenty. Twitter = power. But why would he give it up? He seems to enjoy the conflict and culture war aspects. (He'd do well on this board :)

He does seem recently pretty unhinged though. I admire his entrepreneurial acumen. I worry about his mental health.
