they CAN charge higher prices in US while other countries have much stricter price controls. Since the variable cost of most drugs is so low, drug companies will still sell into countries with strict price controls because it is still incremental profit. And because drugs can't be reimported to the US, they don't impact their ability to command higher prices in the US. Once mass reimportation is allowed, I think Pharma companies will hold more firm on pricing in other countries and just not sell into some countries that will not negotiate to a "happy medium" if you will.

The end result of mass reimportation being allowed will be lower prices in the US and higher prices everywhere else. I think that's a good outcome. Make the price for drugs more consistent globally (with some exceptions for developing nations)
