Who’s “unserious”? The person who can only see problems which benefit

His desired political outcome, or the one who can see more comprehensively? Seeing the illiberalism on one side of our political spectrum is not mutually exclusive from seeing it on the other. This is just a clear statement about how, when a group sees an existential threat from the outside, it closes ranks and becomes intolerant of criticism of itself from within. In other words, demands for orthodoxy and intolerance of dissent.

All that does is grease the skids for the illiberalism within your own group to metastasize as it already has on the other side.
