Blame them, and democrats were still in the WH as those prices normalized, and it is politically inconvenient to be intellectually consistent and credit them for that.

Basically you typed out a lot of words, which just amounted to that level of partisan hackery. For one thing, particularly in fracking fields, existing wells tend to become much more expensive over time, as they lose pressure and need more intervention for extraction. Secondly, the buildout in production in recent years happened in a world no less committed to alternatives, so those future uncertainties are unchanged. That’s become a constant, not a variable - the alternative energy train has left the station. Driven more by the private sector than govts.

Truth is presidents have little to do with oil price volatility. A fact you recognize only when politically convenient. Like everything else.
