I’ll take a bit of the counter argument that time pressure is a strange gau

gauge of competence in a subject. IMO, there should be plenty, more than enough time for essentially anyone, to complete most tests.

I was an incredibly competitive kid I high school and finishing fastest on tests fed my ego, but in no way did it correlate to my overall understanding or competence with subjects.

So just go to all untimed (within reason) tests. Give word limits and a reasonable number of questions, then give kids as much time as they want to demonstrate understanding.
