In and of itself, that stat doesn’t tell you much.

Most companies and their execs make political donations, so any time a contract is awarded to ANY company, it’s likely that company or an executive with that company is a political donor.

I’m not saying stuff like this isn’t a problem, but without an analysis showing a clear correlation between donations and size of award or likelihood to be awarded a contract, it’s hard to say how bad this really is. What is the value of contracts that were awarded to non donors?

But based on the article, it sounds like Mississippi’s laws are in need of some updating (shocker)
