we're allowed to have different opinions on which are best for the country, different weighting on which are most important to us, and then let that determine hoo we will or won't vote for. :-)

BTW as an aside, on taxation, I would be fully in support of a broad based across the board increase on everyone over a certain minimum income (say $30K for a number). As long as it came with a multiple in spending cuts (not lesser increases) for every dollar of projected tax increase. Continuing to pretend we can simply make others "pay their fair share" to take care of it is neither honest, nor a good idea. Pretending corporate taxes aren't costs simply passed on to the people that ultimately pay them (customers, employees, and lastly owners/shareholders) is disingenuous at best. And a "wealth tax" is just patently dumb and ineffective. At some point, we simply have to get our fiscal house more in order if we want to give our kids and grandkids even a slight chance of being able to do anything once they get in charge. And that can't happen without some tax increasing. (my exception here would be Medicare/Aid tax - that could and should be increased without a corresponding spending cut, as the current 2.9% is simply nowhere near enough given how much longer we live now)
