You have to get your information somewhere.

Did you cite your sources in school when you wrote an essay or were you an independent thinker back then too? Do you show your clients publicly-available data to back up your investment advice now? Or are you somehow omniscient and can absorb what is happening in the world without any media or data to inform your opinion? Why would you not share that data with those of us who are so clearly wrong about so many things? You might just win a convert to your side after all!

It's insane and quite insulting to think that Shen (and the many other folks on the board, including me, you've used the same nonsense attack on) is not using critical thinking skills to digest the news and form his own opinions. The fact that he shares someone else's on here to back up his argument is a fundamental rhetorical device that would get a better grade in a UVA class. But then if nobody of note endorses your views and you are too embarrassed to share your sources of information I guess that is the line of attack you'd have to settle on.
