Out of control at any minute, but I actually think the evidence of Israel’s innocence in this is probably pretty compelling, or we’d be hearing a whole lot more protest from Europe. I’m hopeful the Islamic world is going to largely ignore Iran’s attempts to widen the war. And for the first time last night, I heard that Israel now says a ground invasion is not inevitable.

Part of me worries about that too - the idea that Hamas might be able to claim victory - that they know Israel is simply too unwilling to kill masses of innocents to retaliate (in spite of the apparent belief by so many that Israel targets innocents indiscriminately, which they clearly do not do). I think the most surprising thing after the barbarity of the Hamas attack has been Israel’s restraint. Imo far more than you’d see from us in their shoes.
