Respectfully, I don’t think the ratio/comparison thrown out there is apt

I take issue with it, as I believe life is absolute and it essentially implies that one death means more than another because it occurred within a smaller population.

Did Laz directly state that he does not care about the lives of the innocent Israelis killed? If he did, that’s pretty messed up. If not, this is a straw man.

Why can’t he express contempt at both Hamas and what seems to be a prolonged occupation with even more death and destruction coming. As others posted, this may be exactly what these despicable groups are hoping for after the significant diplomatic strides Israel has made with neighboring Arab countries. If further atrocities, occupation, and war crimes are committed, it will likely destroy any progress made on that front.
