Recently got into it with my sister (again). I take my niece to a couple of Broadway shows a year. And then we get something to eat. She’s somewhat partial to gimmicky places with singing waiters, which generally starts to grate on me after 45 min or so. I find it a little jarring when someone I didn’t see is suddenly singing in my ear.

I asked her if we could take a break from that, so she suggested Junior’s. It’s a tourist trap, and kind of a zoo at busy times, but she loves their cheesecake (not that she needs it, but never mind). My sister asked where we were going for dinner, so I told her, and she all but forbade me to go there. For reasons I couldn’t fathom except it wasn’t upper crust enough for her tastes. After insisting for 3 minutes that she and her husband would tell us where to go, I less than politely told her to shut the hell up, she can make her thoughts known when she’s part of the dinner party, which she wasn’t.

And I’d go to Juniors every time I go to Broadway if my niece wanted. Food was simple but extremely good, service was lightening fast because they’re turning over tables - I couldn’t care less about touristy ambiance.
