Yeah I tend to agree. It was also almost 35 years ago


and people did stupid shit in the 80s that wouldn’t fly now.

I’d like to see a politician say something like “I have a vague recollection of it, but I have no idea what the hell we were thinking. It was stupid, but we didn’t intend any offense at the time. I’m sorry for anyone who is offended by something I was involved in as a dopey 20 year old. It was not our intention to trivialize or make light of slavery. And no I’m not resigning. Next question”.
