I've been more of an NFL fan for a long time. But we've discussed it on


here before; big time college football is incompatible with the mission of a university. Conference re-alignment and TV contracts exacerbate the problem. There's an argument to be made that the players should be paid, perhaps affiliated with universities, but essentially there as an NFL developmental league.

As it is now, it's a bore. Only a few teams have a chance to win it all, the same ones every year, and then a bunch of irrelevant bowl games for the rest to milk as much revenue as possible.
