He's obviously not going to win. But people like Hurd have to keep making these arguments to try to draw the line between the Trump cult and the conservative people who dislike Trump but still want traditional conservative policies. Otherwise, we'll just have a permanent GOP cult that may not command a majority in national elections, but will still hold a dangerous amount of power.
