I have a case study with one of my friend

Groups that my wife and I left not long after Trump was elected. I’ve told the story before, but this group just got more and more agitated during the Obama years.

We agreed not to talk politics but they couldn’t help themselves with snide comments, especially to my wife. I would respond with a few questions that would reveal the hypocrisy at which point the conversation would turn, but my wife would sometimes take the bait.

Shortly after trump won, they kept baiting my wife, mind you after years of agreeing not to talk politics, so we just broke with them cold turkey. Great decision, though they kept asking us to come back. We realized our fundamental values were too different.

Our conclusion was that they just couldn’t stand having a black man, smarter than them, giving orders. It broke them over the 8 years.
